NGC 7009 The Saturn Nebula is a planetary nebula in the constellation Aquarius. This remarkable planetary nebula takes its name from its appearance, in early observations it had a faint resemblance to the planet Saturn with rings nearly edge-on. The nebula was originally a low-mass star that ejected its layers into space, forming the nebula. The central star is now a bright white dwarf star of apparent magnitude 11.5. The Saturn Nebula is located approximately 2,000 to 5,200 light-years from Earth. Apparent magnitude 8.0.
