M 62 NGC 6266 Flickering Globe Cluster is a globular cluster of stars located in the south of the constellation of Ophiuchus. M62 is about 21,500 light years from Earth and 5,500 light years from the Galactic Centre. It is among the most massive and luminous globular clusters in the Milky Way. Its estimated to be 1,220,000 solar mass and its diameter is 110 light years. M 62 appears as a small hazy patch in binoculars, while small telescopes reveal a comet-like shape. In 2013, astronomers discovered a stellar-mass black hole in M62, one of the first to ever be found in a globular cluster in the Milky Way. Apparent magnitude 6.5.
