Aurora Australis from backyard in Camden 12 Nov 2025 is a natural light display in Earths upper atmosphere caused by charged particles from the Sun colliding with atoms in the atmosphere. Rarely are auroras seen this far north, 34⁰ south. It is due to an intense G4 geomagnetic storm, one of the largest that we've seen in recent years. The maximum on the geomagnetic storm scale is a G5. Auroras are directly related to the 11 year solar cycle, becoming more intense and frequent during solar maximum.
