NGC 6905 Blue Flash Nebula, also known as the Blue Flash Nebula, is a planetary nebula in the constellation Delphinus. It lies about 20° north of the celestial equator, so it can be seen from both hemispheres at certain times of the year. The nebula is estimated to be about 5,500 light-years away. Its colour is a striking blue-green, which comes from oxygen gas glowing under intense ultraviolet light from the star at its centre. The central star, classified as a Wolf-Rayet type star, is one of the hottest known of its kind, with a surface temperature estimated at around 150,000 K, about 25 times hotter than the Sun’s surface. Apparent magnitude 10.9.
