NGC 7293 Helix Nebula is a planetary nebula (PN) located in the constellation Aquarius and is about 655 light years away. It is regarded as the largest and nearest planetary nebula. In spite of the name, planetary nebulae have nothing to do with planet formation. The central star in the middle is a white dwarf created by a intermediate or low mass dying star that ran out of fuel and ejecting its outer layers into space. The apparent magnitude of the white dwarf is 13.5. Apparent magnitude of nebula is 7.60.
