M 80 NGC 6093 is one of the densest of the approximately 150 known globular clusters in the Milky Way. Located roughly 32,600 light-years away in the Scorpius constellation, it has a diameter of 95 light years within which are several hundred thousand stars. Among these are a high number of blue stragglers. These are far younger, hotter, bluer more massive stars in an old cluster. Binoculars will reveal a tiny relatively almost stellar centre that gently fades out into a soft halo. Individual stars are not resolved. It has an estimated age of 12.54 billion years. Apparent magnitude 7.87.
